This Friday, we’ll launch the first “No Cars Friday”.
We’re encouraging all our parents and staff to leave their cars at home and walk their children to school (or use public transport or even ride a bike).
My team and I will be standing by the side of the road stamping with our Chiswick Oasis logo the hand of the children who are coming in by foot.
Their teacher will then give one house points to those who’ve had their hands stamped.
The parents or carers who have been accompanying the children will be given a sort of Lottery ticket. At the end of each month LIVE on our Facebook Page and our Twitter Page we’ll draw a number and announce the lucky winner.
Prizes are being offered by our local businesses: vouchers for free meals, free massages, 50% discounts and so on.
Our plan is to slowly roll this initiative across other schools in Chiswick and beyond, to how our community really cares about air quality.
On the 10th of April 2019, the Hounslow Council officially endorsed this initiative.
